// HOLO DOME - Transformable dome with 3D holograms

Bezistan, Belgrade is the place of the first permanent cinema in Belgrade, the "Grand Cinema", i.e. the place where the first moving pictures were shown in Belgrade. After the Second World War, the cinema "Kozara" was opened in its place. This cinema was very popular and showed world famous movies of that time. Unfortunately, it was closed in the nineties due to privatization. Now, next to Bezistan, there is Mts Dvorana, which is used as a cinema. For the purpose of remembering the great flourishing of the Serbian film scene, when some of our most important films were made, the following concept was created. The idea is to show the old spirit and symbolism of this place, as well as satisfy people's nostalgia for the time of that period, through modern technologies.
The idea is to design a transformable dome inside Bezistan. The dome covers the entire currently covered part of Bezistan, down to the very floor. The idea is that it can shrink and expand, like Chuck Hoberman's Iris Dome. The dome consists of a steel structure and transparent holo screens. The ring it rests on covers the floor of Bezistan, which is made up of holoscreens, to form the full effect. The function of the dome is to form 3D holograms using projectors and holoscreens. The concept represents "the revival of the Yugoslav film scene from the 80s". Considering the historical and cultural importance of Bezistan in the field of cinematography, the idea is to revive film scenes from well-known Yugoslav films. The goal is to give people a real experience of movie scenes, as if they were present in them right now. In this way, you will get a more complete experience of the scenes and people's nostalgia for the "good old days."
